The LAG Delta Po operates in “Polesine”, also defined “Land of the great rivers”, being delimited and crossed by the two most important rivers of Italy: Po and Adige. It is a land characterized by a thick net of inside water courses, that make the province of Rovigo one of the most fertile zones in the Padan Plain, modelled in centuries by the slow flowing of rivers, with a strong rurality and in which notable environmental values reside, such as the terminal stretch of the Po river with its delta, an area of incomparable natural beauty and strong contrasts. Among natural parks, the Po Delta Park is the greatest damp zone in Italy, filled with wide extensions of sweet and brackish waters, lagoons, fishing valleys, channels and golenas that spread along the countryside up to the Adriatic sea. A place where the border between land and water is never well defined, but always mutable and constantly evolving.
