Creation and transnational promotion of an outdoor tourism product linked to European Greenways - Greenways Outdoor

The “Greenways Outdoor” project (co-founded by the Cosme programme of the European Union) consists of the creation and transnational promotion of an outdoor tourism product linked to European greenways, and the capacity building of SMEs located in their vicinity so that they can tailor their services to the demands of customers and so become more competitive.

The general objective of the project is the diversification of the tourism offer in Europe by generating new products relating to greenways and capitalizing on existing ones, thereby improving the competitiveness of the European greenway-based tourism industry, together with the joint promotion of greenways tourism products to make them better known internationally and so attract more visitors. The aim is also to strengthen public and private cooperation in order to facilitate the creation and promotion of the greenways tourism product.

The Delta Po LAG will be responsible for a meeting between the public and private tourism sector, will organize a cycle event to promote it network of cyclable routes and a fam/press trip. The LAG will coordinate participation in a trade fair in Italy (Padova or Verona).

Project duration and start date: 18 months: June 2015 – November 2016

Budget: 320,000- € .

EUROPEAN GREENWAYS PHOTO CONTEST

European Greenways are the protagonists of this digital photography competition which will take place in the spring of 2016, from 11 April to 12 June 2016.

The competition is organized by the European Greenways Association, in the framework of the European project Greenways Outdoor (co-founded by the Cosme programme of the European Union). The objective is to promote greenways as a suitable infrastructure for different groups to practise outdoor activities at any time of year.

Participation is free and open to any photographer living in one of the member states of the European Union, EFTA or official European Union candidate countries, or in any other member state of the Council of Europe.

The photos must be submitted exclusively by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  or uploaded to the official European Greenways Association Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/European.Greenways.Association/ 

The EGWA will analyse all photos received before exhibiting them, discarding those that are not of a minimum quality or that might be distasteful or offensive.

The deadline for submission is Sunday, June 12, 2016.
